Too good!

One of Father Ned's favourite expressions in church is "too good" He often finishes words of praise with this as well as when he greets you after the service. Today's service had the amazing singing we experienced last week but a guitarist joined in as well today. Just amazing sound and atmosphere. It will be with sadness that we leave at the end of this week.

One of the other interesting things that happens here on Yorke Island is the reef pilot service.Any large boat that travels down through the Torres Strait to Thursday Island or Cairns requires a local pilot to negotiate through the reef systems. There are two pilot boats here on the island and they head out to meet the incoming ship and drop off a pilot onto the ship. It happens a couple of times each say,any time, day or night. One of the boats remains in the water and the other has a shed that is situated at the top of the boat ramp. The boat is puled in and out of this on a huge trailer and tractor. Its quite interesting watching them come and go

We snorkled again today as the tides are just perfect today. We were spoiled by just perfect weather yesterday, today the visibility was not as good but the life out here on the reefs is still just incredible. We had Amy's friend Jocelyn with us too and she taught us many names for the local fish life which was great.A clam is a "wag" and a shell is a "gog". Amy found a blue star fish, they are fascinating creatures.
Sunday night, another week slipped away......what will the next one hold? Yawo!
